I found the idea of the auxilary brain functions really interesting. Such as how the speed and usage are amplified. Also a great reminder is how a computer can be a 'memorizing' tool in which matieral can be stored. Often times I forget the power a computer has in saving a obtaining info that I waste time researching for. Basically I am reminded that I forget to take a computers skills to my full advantage.

The use of the computer as part of your brain is a grate way to look at a computer. The computer can store and can get you access to so much information. As long as the software is used properly and good information is put into the computer than quality information can be gotten from the computer. "Garbage in Garbage out."

The idea that stuck out the most to me was the idea of keeping a personal library. It means to keep a record of your work. The author has several examples of doing this. You can keep a record of your work in a portfolio, which many are now switching over to electronic portfolios. In some areas of study, these are a must. Another way of keeping a record of your work is to make a résumé. The author also mentioned references; it makes your work more credible. I agree with the author that everyone should keep a portfolio of their work. Their best work and it should be up to you to make a hard copy or keep it as an electronic version. I disagree that references keep your work credible; I think you should make sure the references are credible. There really is no effect this idea will have on me; my portfolio is a work in progress.

I liked the idea about keeping a personal library. I agree we should keep a portfolio of work. Personally, I hate when I can not locate something when I need it. I believe it is always important to keep track and copies/records of your school work and other documents. I cant wait until digital file cabinets replace old file cabinets.

The personal library idea is extremely beneficial to me. As an art student I'm expected to keep a portfolio to record my work throughout my college career.

And although a hard copy portfolio is great to look at in person but digital portfolios are more practical. rather than lugging around a 3x4 foot portfolio where I'm limited to 20 pieces of work due to weight and space inside, I can just direct someone to a website where I can store an infinite amount of work that's easy for anyone to sort through.

Also through online portfolios if anyone has a critique or a comment about a particular piece of work sometimes depending on the website you host your work people can just post directly onto the website, which keeps a record of whatever is said so if you need to refer back to it in the future it'll be there for you to look at rather than trying to remember that so and so said.
